The service rep was on time and cordial but the issue was not resolved. He suggested I call GE and have them send me new filters to replace the existing ones I just bought and try them. I went ahead and bought another new one after he left but this did not fix the issue. All three filters bought were GE brand RPWFE filters. I called back and was told that I needed to schedule another appointment to have my refrig serviced again so it can be further evaluated.
If GE is sending defective parts, they should replace them for you at no charge. GE does warranty their parts for one year. If your refrigerator is still not working and the filter issue is resolved, your extended warranty will issue a new dispatch.
