Removed touchpad to inspect and found corrosion from moisture on the touch pad ribbon connector. Cleaned ribbon connector and ran to test. Unit is heating and all functions operate as they should. Timer counts down at normal rate. If the problem reoccurs it will need the touchpad and main pcb.
