"Inspected the unit and found the drain pump functioning properly. Ran a load to test and could hear grinding noise coming from the gearcase and tub. Running the test cycle the control board would constantly lock and unlock the door interrupting the cycles. The unit is eight years old and located in the laundry room. The unit will need a new control and display board, and need the tub and gear case replaced. Tech recommends to replace the unit due to cost of repair. Additional labor and a second tech required if repair is approved. "Inspected the unit, pulled it away from the wall and removed the top panel. Ran a drain and spin cycle and found no issues or sounds. Pushed the unit back against the wall and could hear a tapping noise coming from the water lines hitting the back of the unit. Made adjustments to the lines, ran a test cycle. Cleared any obstructions around the unit and during the medium spin cycle could hear a very loud rattling noise coming from a loose screw or piece of metal inside the unit. Could not pinpoint the sound. Advised the customer that the manufacturer warranty does not cover noise issues or complaints and the extent of the coverage is only for defects. No defect or mechanical issues."
