Removed drum and found belt tensioner not properly bolted to motor mount. Tensioner being loose allowed belt to slip and tensioner to drop. This was the loud thud they heard. Upon arrival customer stated unit tumbles and heats fine but is noisy and walks. Noise is coming from the drive motor. Motor has a large amount of endplay allowing shaft to move causing noise. Motor is no longer available. No repair possible. Unit is a 1979 model. Unit walks because it’s out of level. Leveled unit for customer. Customer is able to use machine for now. Advised customer to shop for a new machine. Please mail out invoice.
