Inspected the unit and found it still in the box. Customer stated they just received the unit within the last 30 days and it was damaged upon arrival. They called American home shield American home shield told them to call GE because it would be covered underneath warranty. Took pictures of the box and the unit and found the door misaligned and the hinges damaged along with the side of the unit damaged and the frame of it damaged. Called GE and they stated that the damage is not from manufacturer defect but was damage due to shipping and that the customer should reach back out to American home shield or the shipping company to resolve the issue. Shipping damage is not covered underneath GE warranty. This unit was purchased by American home shield to replace an old microwave.

Inspected the unit and found gap in between the outer and inner liner around the freezer section and the freezer fan not running. Found ice buildup inside the freezer section and no cool air get into the refrigerator. Use food grade sealant to seal up the gapping around the freezer and cleared out ice in the vent and freezer section. Replaced fan. Used permagum around water line for icemaker behind the evaporator cover to keep warm air from getting into the unit. Provided information to the customer about the unit. Found the refrigerator door handle missing a screw and the refrigerator vent and light cover missing on the unit. Customer stated they would reach out to Lowes about continuing issues.

"Customer stated the unit is leaking water underneath the refrigerator on the left by the drain pan. Upon arrival ran roughly 40 ounces of water to the dispenser and inspected the back of the unit and under the unit and found no leaks, emptied the ice mold and filled the ice tray with water and found no leaks under the unit or behind it, inspected the hose attached to the water valve, valve and line and found no leaks, filled the drain pan with almost 4 cups of water and found no leaks from the drain pan, inspected and cleaned out the drain line from the cabinet down into the drain pan and found no leaks. Two techs on site and neither could find any leaks with the unit neither inside or outside the unit. Called homebuyers warranty and advise them of the issues and recommended they send out a second opinion if the customer calls back in.; saved tckt"
