Checked unit over and found that the unit was heating up properly and was shutting off with no issues when disconnected from apartment vent. Put unit on air dry it was not heating up. This is normal. Disconnected from apartment venting and instructed customer to run a couple loads through to ensure that it is functioning normal when not connected to their vents. She was OK with this. I spoke with Sandy at Aarons and they are OK with us billing them for the trip charge.

Inspected gearcase and found end play in gearcase shaft. End play is whats causing the noise. Under large load the weight on the agitator makes the noise. Unit needs gearcase. Due to cost of repair customer does not wish to proceed.

I advised the customer to use cleaning tablets (affresh) on a regular basis to prevent the dispenser from hanging up and to provide a better clean cycle. All checks ok."
