Customer states getting an LE code and was hearing a metal to metal noise. Remove the rotor. Found a screw attract to the rotor magnet.. Reseated the rotor. Cycled the unit and fount that the screw had to come from the gearcase. While cycling found hear the unit trying to turn and the basket would not turn. Customer calling vendor for exchange reused further service.

Checked unit over and found that when it agitates or spins it isn’t getting to full speed. Unit is draining all the water out but the motor isn’t getting to speed to spin out excess water. Motor has proper voltage to it. Resistance readings are just below spec on one winding. Unit has an E21 error. Not draining fast enough. Unit drains fine in test mode and within a reasonable amount of time. Unit needs main control and motor. Called customers warranty company as a courtesy and gave diagnosis. Warranty company is buying out.

You could tell that the hopper for icemaker probably had some water residue that froze, therefore each time unit was filling had no where to go, eventually making one big ice ball then running over and into the freezer.
