Customer states that unit is making a grinding noise from the freezer section until you open the doors. LG has replaced the freezer evaporator cover twice for the same issue. Same noise every time. Inspected unit and found no frost or ice build up. No cooling issues either. LG had a service bulletin for fan noise. The most updated version has the fans replaced individually rather than the assembly. The fans have changed and ordering the assembly comes with older style fans that make noise. Customer states unit is still not finishing a cycle. Customer unsure if error is present. Control does not store errors. Spoke with tech line and without errors they could not help. Ran unit on large load size heavy duty cycle. When filling on cold only it is slow to fill but did not have errors. Removed hose to inspect filters and they are clean. No debris like last time. Removed both water lines and flowed into a bucket to check flow. Cold is slow. Tested water pressure on the cold side and it was reading around 20 then jumped to 40. Hot is testing at 40. Voltage to the water valve is correct. House is on a well and I suspect when another water source is run it diminishes the cold pressure enough to cause a slow/no fill error. No adjustments on the rear legs to bring it further forward. The closure mechanism is not slowing down the door any. LG has a service bulletin in regards to a chlorinated/bad water taste. Customers tapwater does not taste chlorinated. Remove the filter from the unit and run with bypass and it still tastes chlorinated. Per bulletin the filter head and water tank need replaced. Unit has no frost pattern on the evaporator. Compressor is very hot to touch. When compressor is attempting to run it is drawing 8.6 amps and not dropping. Compressor is not shorted to ground. Resistance of the windings do not match spec. Attempted to jump start compressor with known good start device and capacitor. Compressor will not start. Same amp draw as before. Unit needs the compressor replaced. Due to the age and cost of the repair the customer does not wish to proceed.

Checked unit over found that there is a massive amount of condensation in the refrigerator. The refrigerator door was not closing properly due to the bottom left hand event. Refrigerator looks like it has been damaged. I was able to get the door to close properly by adjusting the hinge. Unit checks OK

Inspected the unit and found the high limit thermostat shutting off early not allowing unit to get warm enough. Unit has good airflow to the exterior. Made adjustments to the thermostat and selection knob. The unit is now heating as it should. Advised the customer if they have continuing issues with this they may need to replace the fuses and cycle selection assembly.

Customer states that unit went out of balance and didnt fully spin the clothes out. It did show a Ub error. Ran diagnostics cycle and it ran through it fine with no issues. Error codes stored are Ub and dC. Door lock is operating as it should. Unit got to speed fine in test mode. Inspected underneath and found no signs of broken or damaged wires. Nothing loose. The suspension is tight and rebounds to normal level. Spoke with customer and after discussion we believe it was just due to a large load. Advised customer on load size and loading to improve performance.
