Damage most likely occurred during delivery or at the warehouse. Inspected icemaker/ice bucket and found no loose or missing screws. Inspected dispenser and found no screws missing either. Screw was left from the factory and fell into icemaker. Inspected icemaker and found it set to the lowest fill setting. Ice cubes are coming out small and this can cause slow production. Tested temperature sensor and sensor is out of range. Replaced icemaker and cycled to test. All functions of the icemaker are working properly. Advised customer that unit should fill ice bucket within 48 hours. "Installed part, recalibrated and ran a test cycle. The motor would not activate and agitate or spin the basket. Called GE techline and we tested each component of the unit and found the motor, shift actuator, and splutch kit, and transmission was also damaged. After running several tests it was determined that the unit had to of been affected by a lighting strike or similar issue to have caused so match damage to the unit. Due to the cost and extent of repair the unit is not repairable and needs to be replaced. Customer to file with home owners insurance."

Advised the customer to let it finish the cycle and use cleaning tablets and rinse aid on a regular basis. The suds are causing the unit to short out the cycle and not run completely through the program. All checks ok.
