Sometimes an error code can be displayed mistakenly if your Bosch dishwasher experiences a power surge or a glitch. Resetting the dishwasher will clear any glitches, meaning the error code will go away and the dishwasher will work as normal. Here’s how to perform a hard reset on your Bosch dishwasher:
Dishwasher filters are in charge of stopping food debris from clogging the drainage system. Ideally, filters should be changed regularly, but if you neglect to do so, a clogged filter can prevent your dishwasher from fully draining. This can trigger the E24 error in your dishwasher. If you notice pooling water in the bottom of your Bosch dishwasher, as well as food debris gathering around the filter area, then cleaning the filter is probably the solution.
To fix:
The E24 error code refers to a drainage issue, and as such anything that interferes with drainage can be responsible. A blocked or kinked drain hose means that the dirty water from inside your dishwasher can’t drain properly, and water can pool in the bottom of the dishwasher’s interior.
To fix this:
A blocked drain pump can also lead to drainage issues, which can trigger the E24 error code. The drain pump expels dirty water from your dishwasher into the drain hose and your home’s drainage system.
Other signs of a blocked drain pump include strange noises during the drainage part of the wash cycle, and pooled water in the bottom of your Bosch dishwasher after the cycle is finished. Please note, this step is a little more technical than the others, so if you’re not confident about taking apart your dishwasher yourself, you should contact a professional technician.
