"Inspected the unit and while entering diagnostics several buttons would not respond and the control board would shut down after running about halfway through the diagnostics. Ran a normal test cycle for several minutes and found it leaking between the tub and wash motor assembly, and after a while at the heater. Door springs also rusting. The unit is 15 years old and located in the kitchen. Tech recommends to replace the unit due to cost of repair, age of unit, and high risk of additional issues. Then I canceled the cycle out and the drain pump ran and emptied out the water. Hooked the unit up to my GE diagnostics tool. And found that it needed a firmware update. Updated firmware. But there were no error codes found. Began a second test cycle. But unit would not begin a cycle. Unit is in need of a control board and user interface board. Customer declined repair

Inspected the unit and found an error code for A302 while in diagnostics. This code is for the electronics overheating. The customer was running a clean cycle for 2hours when the code appeared. Tested the convect and cooling fan and both passed. The unit only has a few inches of clearance on each side and under 6 inches clearance on the top and bottom. This does not allow for good airflow and heat dissipation around the unit which is causing the error. Provided information to the customer about the cleaning cycle and advised if the issue returns that they can add a thin layer of insulation around the outside of the wall oven to help control heat dissipation. All other checks OK

Inspected the unit and found the door switch shorted out and damage to the main wiring harness running to the timer and throughout the unit. Unit would need a new door cycle switch and wire harness that runs through the entire unit. Unit is starting to rust out in several locations. Tech recommends to replace the unit due to the cost of repair age of the unit.

Inspected unit and found it leaking at the wash motor and the drain line cracked into the drain pump. Made adjustments to the drain line and the wash motor secure tabs to keep it locked in place. Ran the cycle for about 10 to 15 minutes and found no other leaks. Drain pump is much louder than normal. I recommend the customer not replace the drain pump until they were sure that the washer motor would not leak anymore. All checks OK

Inspected the unit and found a large amount of produce stuffed in the freezer section. Causing the unit to have restrictions as far as ventilation and airflow. Forcing ice to build up in the back along the wall to where it was hitting the fan making a lot of noise. Advised the customer to run the unit through a 48 hour defrost cycle unplugged with both doors open. And to move some stuff around so that the unit could have adequate airflow both to the freezer and fridge side.
