Forced unit into defrost. Control is sending voltage to heater but not through the defrost thermostat. Thermostat is shorted open. Ice maker is freezing up from outside air getting in. This blocks the air flow and allows cubes to melt. Unit is in need of the air handler kit and defrost thermostat. "Inspected the unit and found the control board not responding, the control panel not activating on several buttons. Started a rinse cycle and the wash motor made a loud humming sound and the upper and lower spray arm completely coated with calcium. Drained the unit and it drained very slowly with a pulsing sound coming from the drain pump. Checked unit over found that one of the rollers had completely worn out and had fallen off. Drum had a flat spot in it. Replaced roller and greased other rollers. Unit checks OK. Unit makes a slight thumping noise due to the flat spot on the drum. Showed customer the noise and they were OK with it
