Disassembled the ceiling and removed the icemaker section and found the fan frozen up and the icemaker mold had a crack in it and was leaking water. Removed the icemaker and detached the icemaker mold from the old icemaker installed a new mold from extra truck stock (defective motor of other icemaker). "Unit is 16 years old in the kitchen. Customer states that freezer is weak cooling and the fresh food side isnt cooling at all. Inspected freezer section and found the evaporator frosted over. Unit isnt defrosting. Thawed out defrost thermostat; it is shorted open. Forced unit into defrost and heater has voltage to it and through it. Heater and defrost control are good. Customer also states that the fresh food door wont stay open or closed. Found cam closer worn out. Unit needs defrost thermostat, and cam closer.
